I will always remember watching the movie adaptation of this book and seeing that newspaper made boulder rolling down the hill. - "Maybe there is a beast… maybe it's only us." - Lord of the Flies is a classic! I was just watching the movie the other day, so I decided to post a picture of Ready Player One! --- The book was amazing and I could not put it down the first time that I read through it. The constant nostalgia trip got somewhat tiring, but since I love all of those things, it was very enjoyable. Being very much into MMO games and VR it was a perfect read for me. I'm very excited to see how VR progresses in the next few years. When I first tried out the htc vive it blew me away. --- The movie was OK, but we all know that the books are always better. Out of all of the dystopian novels, Brave New World is my favorite. - While the other dystopian novels are good, especially 1984, there is something that this book offers that I just love so much more. Books aren't banned. Books aren't burned. It's that the people don't even want them anymore. Why enjoy books when you could just go to a futuristic orgy?! - It's been a few years since I last read Brave New World, but I'm thinking it might be time to give it another read. King Arthur - a classic! I love all of the Barnes and Noble collector's editions. They are so beautiful! I'd love it if they came out with new releases of these more often. - Speaking of King Arthur, the 2004 movie version was an obession of mine at one point. I remember coming home from school everyday, playing some RuneScape, and always having King Arthur run in the background. I must have seen it dozens of times by now. The most recent adaptation was OK, but I still prefer the 2004 version much better. - The BBC show Merlin is also fantastic. I was so excited when it started to be released in the US, because at the time I could never get my hands on the newest seaosns. Fingerprints of the Gods is an interesting look at ancient civilization. While not widely accepted, you'll have to admit most of the research done is fascinating. Graham Hancock was introduced to me via the Joe Rogan podcast. I highly recommend checking out those episodes! - Where do you all stand on "pseudo" scholarship? I kind of lump it all together with conspiracy theories. It's fun to think about, but it doesn't really go past that for me.
