My name is Chaz and I write boring blog posts.
Most of my posts are random thoughts about the books I read, and I call those posts reviews. (Or shitty blog posts) I created this blog a couple of years ago in the hopes that it
would get me to focus on writing more. As it turns out, the true value has come from the real connections with people I’ve met along the way by a mutual sharing of the love of words and stories.
My greatest passion right now is finding captivating, inspiring, and intriguing stories. I love experiencing a good emotional impact, which could be from fictional books, real stories, video games, or pretty much any form of entertainment art done well.
I’ve been working on a cyberpunk novel (Only 200 or so pages in at the time of writing this), and I have laid some of the groundwork for other works that I am looking at creating. While most of my posts are book reviews, and it is how most people view my blog’s theme, I will be getting into some other topics and fields that have been interesting me. (Technology, Sociology, Politics, Psychology, Anthropology, etc. etc. etc.)
I try to be too funny all of the time, and I really can’t help it. One of my greatest joy is making people laugh. I will keep going and going if people are laughing. (Or if it’s just me laughing at my own jokes. Which is all the time…) I love jokes!
Outside of the fantasy world, I am in operations management. It is a very difficult, high stress, high pace, and often times requires me to be putting out fires all day. Because of this, I am very interested in leadership, management, and business in general. It can be a tough battle, but at the end of the day, it is worth it when your team succeeds. Anybody who knows me will tell you how dedicated I am to my work, and how I make it one of the top priorities in my life. I take a lot of pride in the work that I do.So at the opposite end of the joking comedian spectrum, I can be an intense perfectionist that absolutely requires total dedication though. (Who isn’t a little crazy though?)

Sanderson is awesome on every level. I’ve not read ALL of his books yet. But I intend to. I also enjoy watching his lectures on writing. He’s wise beyond his years.

I saw you mentioned Brandon Sanderson. I’m currently halfway through the Wheel of Time series, which was a Robert Jordan series that Sanderson completed when Jordan passed away. I was just curious is you have read WOT?

Wheel of time is one of my all-time favourites. What a pity Robert Jordan passed away.
I enjoyed Mistwraith series ny Brandon Sanderson.

I finished Wheel of Time and loved it. It’s definitely one of my favorites as well. I was so impressed with how well Brandon Sanderson completed the series. I did not notice too many differences in the writing. I will have to check out more of his work!

You said you never post/comment on the books you never finish? How come out of interest? Always good to take the negative aspects of a book with the good ones. But really like your about me section. A real insight to your writing and who you are. Looking forward to reading more of your blog!

Hi Chaz, many thanks for liking my post about my new short story collection ‘Minding Mama & Other Short Stories’ – much appreciated! I love your enthusiasm, and completely get why you sometimes stop reading books (dare I hope that you might read mine all the way through?!? 🙂 . As a fellow ‘book junkie’ I tend not to review books I don’t finish, or don’t enjoy – although I sometimes think a review saying why I didn’t enjoy/finish it might be helpful to other readers, and perhaps the author… But having said that, I don’t always leave reviews for books I DO enjoy, either, and always feel bad about not doing so… usually it’s just the time factor (as in lack of). But I should probably make time to leave a review instead of diving into the next book or going off to drive a few more miles on ETS2/ATS. My bad!

Really, I don’t know where you get the time to work full time, write blogs, books and still have time to visit so many other people’s blogs. I did get a laugh when I read you describing your blog as ‘boring’. Can’t be that boring with all these positive comments – mine included.
Do you recall Will Rogers saying that ‘everybody’s ignorant – just on different subjects’?
Maybe ‘boring’ is like that – everybody’s blog is boring – just to different people..
